Sister Jiivanshrii (Silvia Valle) was one of the first Margiis initiated in South America, in 1973. During her life she translated many books and discourses by Baba into Spanish. She translated Subhasita Samgraha Volumes 2, 3, 4 and 5, and she revised Subhasita Samgraha Volume 1. She retranslated Idea and Ideology and Thoughts of P.R. Sarkar, and she reviewed the translations of Caryacarya 1 and 2, Yoga Psychology, The Liberation of Intellect: Neohumanism, Neohumanism in a Nutshell Volumes 1 and 2, A Guide to Human Conduct and Microvita in a Nutshell.
She often sent inspiring stories to her network of friends. During the last two years she struggled against cancer that was increasingly painful.
Despite her pain, she continually did translations for the Prout Research Institute of Venezuela and she also was translating the new version of my book, "After Capitalism: Prout's Vision for a New World." She was a very dear friend.
In the last few days she called out, "Baba, if it is my time, take me." And today, at 12:15pm, it was.
She leaves behind children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

ReplyDeleteIt is true. We have lost our dear Sister Jiivanshrii to that dreaded disease called cancer. Jiivanshrii passed away at home on Dec 10th. She didn't want to undergo chemotherapy or surgery, and had decided to return home after a spell in hospital. Shortly after returning she passed on, to the surprise of family and friends, who had news of apparent recovery. She was cremated yesterday, and survived by her daughter.
Jiivanshrii was a dedicated devotee, who had been to India a couple of times to see Baba. She was a dear sister to all local margiis, and motherly to many WTs who passed through. She was always ready with a good word or any assistance she could muster up to help. In her spare time, she translated many of Baba's books into Spanish.
Although i had corresponded with her, I had not met her personally until my recent trip to Uruguay. Her preceding fame was indeed true to fact, as she went out of her way to prepare a delicious meal for me, and receive me almost like an acarya. I was truly honored and moved by her loving care.
We will all miss her, for sure, but her dedication and leadership will always be an example for us.
May Parama Purusa bless her, and keep her close to His Heart.

ReplyDeletei just returned from four days travel and off line and have come to Didi Ananda Harimaya's mail telling that our dear sister Jiivanshrii is now in the lap of BABA. really i feel pained to read it even though i know she is with BABA. she was a lifelong devotee of BABA and was now 78 or even 80 years old when she left us. i can now only express my gratitude to her posthumously for the many times she gave me strong moral support and unconditional love and affection on so many issues that came up on the lists. though far away in Montevideo, she more than made her presence felt all over the world with her beautiful postings. she did hundreds or thousands of hours of translation work (english to spanish) for various workers and margiis in our organization. i remember her also telling me once in detail on skype about her visits to BABA and HIS blessings on her.
may BABA bless her and keep her tightly in HIS arms.

Let me first correct that our desr jiivanshrii passed away on december the 12th at 12.15 noon time. Due to a strike in the cementeries she will be creamated only next monday the 19th of december.
ReplyDeleteJiivanshrii was a dear friend, we used to communicate thru skype quite often but even more often we used to communicate with little messages also thru skype.
She has been the right hand of the spanish translation forum. She translated Subhasita Samgraha 2,3,4 and 5 and she revised the SS 1. She retranslated Idea and Ideology, Thoughts of P R Sarkar, helped with the deep revision Of Tantra la Ciencia Eterna, Caryacarya 1 and 2, Yoga Psychology, Neuhmanism the Liberation of Intellect and also Neohumanism in a Nutshell 1 and 2. She also revised Guide to Human Conduct, etc. Her last contribution was The retranslation of Microvita in a Nutshell.
I learned a lot from Jiivanshrii and we used to help each other with the work.
She was always sending articles from BABA to the forums inspiring thus to many people.
Sometimes she used to call me "Didita".
I missing her deeply.
