Rameshvar - Robert Labensart

Our brother Rameshvar of Los Angeles Region, New York Sector, is now on Baba’s lap. He passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019, at home in Santa Rosa, California. He was 70 years of age and had been in the post-surgery phase after removal of a tumor.

Married in 1977, he was a dedicated and devoted family man. His wife, our sister Nirmala, their two daughters - Heidi Karuna and Miirabai - three grandchildren, and his brother Barry, also an initiate, survive.

Rameshvar was one of a kind. Initiated in 1971, Baba's Ideology and Mission were foremost in his mind. He was a deeply-dedicated, service-minded sadhaka who loved kiirtan, and who attended Dharmacakra with enthusiasm. He always remained a staunch devotee.

Besides being a dedicated ideologist, Rameshvar led a very strong and dynamic life. He was independent-minded and compassionate, and cared greatly for all. He always had a smile for everyone. His desire to serve was both unwavering and deep; it manifested as a passion to help others. He was a Waldorf teacher from 1975 to 1984, and he worked in the Ananda Marga Schools in Wichita, Seattle, and Portland, Oregon. Beginning in 1984, he became a very skilled alternative healer and advocated for natural living based on Bhagavata Dharma. He was always eager to tell others about Baba and Ananda Marga, constantly emphasizing the importance of spiritual sadhana in life.

Further, as a spiritual scientist, he constantly sought new and better ways to help those who consulted him for treatment. He helped others so much with their health challenges by providing alternative healing approaches and therapies. For instance, as a student of Chinese Tai Chi and Qigong, he learned many amazing secret practices and insights to reverse aging and clear pain. Through this knowledge, Rameshvar developed a Yoga-Qigong methodology that combines both of these amazing systems.

Rameshvar also had a special affinity for the outdoors and was in amazing physical condition for a seventy-year-old. Particularly fond of hiking, he also served for many years as a guide on the Spiritualists Sports and Adventures Club Colorado River rafting trip each August.

Finally, Rameshvar was also a poet. Here is an excerpt from his "Inspired Poetry of the Soul":

The happiness you seek is finding love, to dive into the ocean of Divine Love,
Love uplifts you to see each moment with a forgiving heart,
Love illumines all that you do with compassionate tenderness,
Love strengthens your courage to step unto the unknown,
Love frees you from whatever can limit a truly loving heart,
Love brings you to be aware of how much you can love everyone as yourself,
   Love is You,
   Love is All That Is.

His body was cremated on Thursday, July 25th, as per Baba's system. A Shraddha Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, August 4. Baba Nam Kevalam

  1. Nameskar Nirmala. I was deeply saddened to hear about Rameshsvar. I am so sorry for your loss. There is no doubt he was one of a kind. Never do I remember him doing anything with a bad intention. Although I often commented how different he and I were I only remember fondly the time we worked together. Truly a kind d and loving soul. Whenever I thought of him over the years I could only smile. His love and style of kiirtan was legendary. Everyone should imitate him. Know that nothing can ease your pain at the moment but you can surely figure he has already followed Baba wherever Baba is. Enjoy and love your children and grandchildren as your tribute to Rameshsvar. Much love. Divyamrta. Ps. They probably still show film of him at Wichita State as an example of how teaching is supposed to be.
