Dada Abhayashankarananda

Dada Abhayashankarananda became a Wholetime worker in the early 1990's, after Baba's physical departure. He was intelligent and dynamic, sweet and smiling, always ready to help. He was dedicated and hard working. He was always composed, even in the most stressful circumstances.

In 2011 he came to Kolkata and was assigned as Central Education Incharge-1. The care of the children home boys was his first priority; did it beautifully. In his very first Education Training Camp, all the participants were so happy to find such a nice dada as In Charge. He could win everybody, irrespective of so called sentiments. His smile was disarming. And as the main person behind our college with active support from ERAWS and Gurukula, he surprised many by his managing skills. Bangalore DMS was also an example of his successful event management. He was the main force behind unity efforts.

Tragically a deadly bacteria attacked him from an unknown source. On October 11 2014 evening, after long treatment in the best hospitals, he breathed his last. That night his mortal remains were brought to Ashram and hundreds of dadas, didis and margiis paid their tearful homage. He was cremated in Garia Adi Maha Smashan just after midnight.
